What might human rights look like in a fairer Scotland?

Join us to hear from Shami Chakrabarti, Director of Liberty, as she tries to answer the question ‘What might human rights look like in a fairer Scotland?’.

In a rare appearance north of the border, this is your chance to hear what Liberty has to say about human rights in Scotland.

Shami is a forthright, intelligent and provocative speaker, so you can expect to be challenged with new ideas and insights for yourself and your organisation.

Shami’s speech will be followed by opportunities for debate and questions from the audience. There will be plenty of opportunity to explore with Shami how embracing human rights might help us to achieve a more socially just Scotland.

This event will be chaired by Gordon MacRae, The Humanist Society Scotland and SCVO board member.

Panelists include

  • Shaben Begum MBE, Director of the Scottish Independence Advocacy Alliance
  • Iain Gordon, Chief Executive of Bethany Christian Trust
  • Amy Dalrymple, Head of Policy of Alzheimer Scotland
